NAVSEA awards Swiftships four 28 meter KIT for Egypt

Swiftships was awarded a contract involving Foreign Military Sales (FMS) to build four (4) 28-meter KITs for the Egyptian Navy (EN). The contract will allow Swiftships to produce KITs so the EN can assemble/co-produce these 28m coastal patrol craft (CPC) in Alexandria, Egypt, Swiftships said in a press release.

The 28m CPCs will include 4.7-meter rigid inflatable boats, forward looking infrared system, diagnostic equipment, and contractor engineering technical services.

Swiftships will execute this work under NAVY’s Gulf Coast Supervisory Shipbuilding (SUPSHIP) Group at its Military Yard in Morgan City, Louisiana. The work is expected to be completed by December 2017. The contract was sole-sourced to Swiftships in accordance with 10 U.S. Code 2304(c)(4) – International Agreement.

US based shipbuilding company Swiftships specializes in the construction of small to medium-sized watercraft built of steel, aluminum, and fiberglass, in ship repair and also provides training, co-production (build, operate, transfer), Integrated Logistics Services (ILS), in-country support and warranty support.
