As of July 1, 2016 freight flows across the waterways of the Azov-Don River Basin decreased by 4.2%, year-on-year, to 3,201,000 t, says the Authority of Azov-Don Basin.
In the reported period, transportation of heavy fuel oil fell by 6% to 1,131,000 t; sulphur – down 4% to 525,000 t; diesel fuel – up 29.2% to 429,000 t.
The number of vessel movements declined by 4.6%, year-on-year, to 2007.
In June, cargo turnover dropped by 7.4% to 1,395,000 t. Transit fell by 6.7% to 1,222,000 t, inland traffic – by 12.2% to 173,000 t.
In June, Azov-Don Basin Authority registered 796 vessels including 403 sailing downward and 393 – upward (versus 882 in 2015: 463 sailing downward and 419 upward).
The depth in June, at the section from the entrance to the 132-th channel to Kochetovsky waterworks was 375 to 400 cm, from Kochetovsky to the 3121-th km stretch of the Don – 355 to 385cm.
The total length of the waterways in the area of responsibility FBU The Authority of Azov-Don Basin is 691.3 kilometers.
