Total throughput of NCSP Group in seven months rises 5.9% to more than 86 million tonnes
Consolidated traffic volume handled at the terminals of NCSP Group between January and July 2016 reached 86,101,000 tonnes, or 5.9% year-on-year, the Group said.
Handling of liquid bulk cargo in the seven-month period grew by 5.7% on the same period a year earlier to 67,259,000 tonnes. Crude oil exports at the Port of Primorsk contributed to a 8.0-percent growth in the segment to 47,602,000 tonnes.
Dry bulk loads volume increased by 5.4% to 6,633,000 tonnes. However, grain exports shrank to 2,815,000 tonnes (- 9.4%) due to lowering prices on foreign markets and to shipment delays by exporters. Volumes of iron ore on the contrary surged by 66.3% reaching 1,772,000 million tonnes. Coal shipments jumped by 24.5% to 980,000 tonnes.
In the reporting period the Group's stevedores moved more than 9 million tonnes of general cargo, a 8.6-percent gain. Handling of ferrous metals and iron rose 12.8% to 7,933,000 tonnes.
Container traffic at the terminals of NCSP Group in 20' units climbed 1,5% to 286,000 TEUs and in a tonne equivalent by 3.9% to 3,138,000 tonnes.
