For the first time in the history of the Russian Federation a stevedoring company handled and shipped 23 mln t of export coal during one calendar year. The record high result has been achieved by Vostochny Port JSC.
According to the stevedore, last year result of 22.77 mln t has not become a limit for the largest coal port of Russia. Such a result has never been achieved so far by coal stevedores of the country. By the end of the year Vostochny Port is going to increase the gap.
“A record high result of 23 mln t is a joint achievement of Vostochny Port JSC and Port Management Company LLC”, said Anatoly Lazarev, Managing Director of Vostochny Port. – … We are not going to rest on our laurels. Phase III of the coal terminal will be put into operation next year allowing for consideration increase of the port’s throughput thus raising the export potential of the Far East region and the development of Russia’s port infrastructure.”
Vostochny Port JSC (Primorsky Territory) is Russia’s largest publicly available terminal equipped with wagon dumpers, conveyor systems, ship loading equipment and a unique multilevel system of magnetic separation. The terminal exports coal produced by different coal companies of Russia. In 2016 the port handled 23 mln t of coal, one fifth of all coal exports via Russian seaports and over 30% of coal transshipment via the ports of Russia’s Far East Basin.
Vostochny Port JSC LLC is implementing an ambitious investment project on construction of the coal terminal’s Phase 3 including the construction of the federal railway infrastructure. New terminal facilities will be put into operation in 2017 allowing for port capacity to reach 39 mln t in 2019. The coal will be delivered from Kuzbass and other coal fields of Russia.
A sole executive body of Vostochny Port JSC is Port Management Company LLC.
