Diana Shipping Inc., a global shipping company specializing in the ownership of dry bulk vessels, has agreed to extend the present time charter contract with Nidera S.P.A., Roma, for one of its Panamax dry bulk vessels, the m/v Melia, for a period of about eleven months to about thirteen months. The gross charter rate is US$9,500 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties. The new charter period is expected to commence on March 18, 2017, the company said in its press release.
