Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg welcomes maiden call of Mein Schiff 3
On 22nd of May, cruise ship Mein Schiff 3 operated by TUI Cruises has made its maiden call to Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg, the port says in a press release. TUI Cruises is a German cruise line, which is jointly owned by a tourist company TUI Group and cruise company Royal Caribbean Cruises. The company was established in 1966 and now operates 6 cruise vessels.
Mein Schiff 3, the third vessel in “premium” class, was built in 2014. It has 15 decks, 1253 cabins, 293 m length and capacity of carrying 2506 passengers on board. The crew is more than 1000 persons. There are such entertaining activities onboard as theater, bowling, outdoor swimming pool, SPA center, many sports areas and wide choice of restaurants and bars.
According to the Berlitz Cruising & Cruise Ships Guide-2017, the vessel Mein Schiff 3 takes the 4th place in TOP-5 of the best cruise ships of a large size.
On 12th of June 2014, there was christening ceremony in Hamburg and the vessel was christened by a German singer Helene Fischer.
This cruise ship that sails under the Malta flag has left Port of Kiel (Germany) on May 19th 2017 for a nine-day cruise and has already called port of Tallinn (Estonia). After St. Petersburg it will also call the ports of Helsinki (Finland) and Stockholm (Sweden), and then come back to port of departure on May 27th.
Traditionally a welcome plaque ceremony was arranged on board the vessel.
During the 2017 cruise season Mein Schiff 3 will make 6 calls to Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg.
