Cargo volumes handled at the Port of Singapore in January-June 2017 rose 5%, year-on-year, to 310.2 million tonnes, the Port Authority statistics showed.
The volume of oil cargo increased by 4.8% to 115.46 million tonnes, while non-oil bulk cargo volume jumped by 12.2% to 9.35 million tonnes.
The port’s container throughput rose by 6.3% to 16.15 mln TEUs.
Singapore is the city-state located on an island in Southeast Asia. In 2016, container traffic at Port of Singapore reached 30.9 TEUs, total cargo throughput was 593.3 million tonnes.
