Leonid Pomeranets, Deputy Technical Director General of Joint-Stock Company "ZVEZDA", will take part in the Conference “LNG Fleet and LNG Bunkering in Russia” on 25 October 2017 in Moscow with a report “Current state, prospects and problems in designing and serial production of gas engines and comprehensive approach to using LNG by marine and river transport”.
ZVEZDA JSC has designed a new generation diesel engines М150 under a state contract in the framework of a dedicated sub-programme.
The engine is intended for seaborne and railway equipment, quarry machinery, autonomous power supply of civil/industrial/defence facilities including crucial importance facilities (800 kW to 1,700 kW, and up to 2,400 kW in the future).
R&D partners of ZVEZDA are Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University and engineering company AVL ListGmbH (Austria).
“To ensure competitive characteristics, key components of the engine have been designed through application of the cutting-edge engineering and technological solutions. Development and creation of such components required close cooperation with suppliers worldwide”, Leonid Pomeranets rold IAA PortNews.
At the Conference, the ZVEZDA representative will tell about the current trends in the market of piston engines for maritime industry and about the development of basic М150 samples. The speaker will evaluate reasonability of designing gas piston engines and offer a SWOT analysis of maritime transport gasification.
