Russia’s General Board of State Expert Review approves Kola Yard project (photo)
GlavGosEkspertiza (Russia’s General Board of State Expert Review) says it has approved the project on construction of a center for production of large capacity offshore facilities at Belokamenka settlement (Murmansk Region).
Having studied the materials, the experts acknowledged the compliance of the project documentation and the findings of the engineering survey with technical regulations and other requirements.
The Center can be used for building different offshore facilities needed for the Arctic development.
Kola Yard will build state-of-the-art offshore facilities - reinforced concrete gravity based structures (GBS) for LNG plants. It will also repair and service offshore facilities and equipment used for the development of offshore gas and condensate fields.
The project approved by GlavGosEkspertiza foresees the construction of dry docks, a concrete mixing plant, production and storage facilities as well as administrative buildings. The complex is to comprise four cargo berths and one passenger berth.
To ensure transport links the Center will have a network of on-site and approach roads, parking areas including an area for heavy-duty vehicles. The construction will be performed in two phases on a rotation basis.
The works under the project designed by LENMORNIIPROEKT JSC will be financed by Kola Yard LLC.
Kolskaya Verf (Kola Yard LLC, subsidiary of NOVATEK) earlier embarked on implementation of the project on creation of a center for construction of large capacity offshore facilities at Belokamenka settlement. The center will cover the territory of more than 150 hectares and will feature production facilities for manufacturing of metal structures and processing line modules; two dry docks, unique in their size; a rotational camp. Total value of the project, according to updated information of the company, will make RUB 50 bln. This ambitious project, with its scope of investments and generation of at least 6,500 jobs, has been given the status of a strategic investment project of the Murmansk Region.
