Russian Navy CINC welcomes oceanographic research vessel Yantar back in Severomorsk
The oceanographic research vessel Yantar, the Russian Navy, has returned to the main station of the Northern Fleet – the city of Severomorsk – after an 11-mounths distant cruise, says press center of RF Defence Ministry. Russian Navy Commander-in-Chief Admiral Korolyov welcomed the ship crew at the dock.
The oceanographic research vessel Yantar has covered more than 50,000 nautical miles with a number of calls to foreign ports of the Republic of Cyprus, Mauritius, South Africa, Uruguay, Portugal, Argentina, the Seychelles, the Republic of Cape Verde and other countries.
As part of the long-range cruise, the vessel Yantar of the Russian Navy took part in search mission (from December 6, 2017 to April 1, 2018) for the Argentine submarine San Juan missed in the Atlantic Ocean.
