In January 2007, the port of Temryuk handled 81.19 thou tons of cargo (+23.9%%, year-on-year), PortNews IAA learnt from Taman branch of Rosmorport FSUE. Transshipment of export cargo totaled 77.40 thou tons (+23.01%, year-on-year). Export included 20.431 thou tons of sawn timber, 4.794 thou tons of round timber, 14.644 thou tons of chemicals. Over the reported period the port handled 1.04 thou tons of grain, 18.006 thou tons of metal. Transshipment of fertilizers totaled 6.171 thou tons, non-ferrous metal – 12.321 thou tons, general cargo– 3.791 thou tons. Volume of imported cargo totaled 3.79 thou tons (+44.66%, year-on-year). In January the port handled 42 vessels against 26 vessels in January 2006.
Temryuk Seaport is located at Taman coast of the Sea of Azov. Total length of the port’s berths is 1200 running meters. Major type of cargo handled at the port is the general cargo: round timber, timber materials, metal, as well as out-of-gage load and foodstuffs. The port is able to accept river-and-sea-going vessels with up to 5000 tons of displacement.
