Freight traffic at the Port of Singapore in January 2019, fell 2.4% on the same month a year earlier, to 51.93 million tonnes, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore provisional figures show.
The volume oil cargo dropped by 3.2% to 19 million tonnes, while non-oil bulk cargo volume rose 8.1% to 1.55 million tonnes.
Container traffic climbed by 0.2% to 2.99 million TEUs.
Singapore is the city-state located on an island in Southeast Asia. In 2017, the port handled 626.17 million tonnes of cargo. In 2018, the port handled 630.03 million tonnes of cargo.
