Murmansk Commercial Seaport increased daily unloading by 12% to 858 railcars
Murmansk Commercial Seaport says it has increased the previous daily unloading record by 12% to 858 railcars.
According to Aleksandr Mas’ko, General Director of the company, the record high result should be attributed to well-coordinated teamwork of the port personnel, high cooperation with Russian Railways and partners of the company, regular introduction of advanced handling methods and involvement of modern high-tech equipment. In late May 2019, Murmansk Commercial Seaport put into operation a new portal crane, the first this year and the thirteenth one under the programme for technical upgrading of the port.
Every year, the company pays about 1 RUB billion of taxes to the regional and the municipal budgets.
Murmansk Commercial Seaport (MMTP JSC) was founded in 1994. MMTP operates 17 berths with total length of about 3 km. The waters depths allow the port accommodate vessels with draft of up to 15.5 m and length of over 265 m.
