Cargo traffic within Azov-Don Basin of Russia’s IWWs down 9% to 9.57 million tonnes in 11M’19
As of 1 December 2019, cargo traffic within Azov-Don Basin of Russia’s IWWs totaled 9.570 million tonnes (-9%, year-on-year), Azov-Don Basin Administration told IAA PortNews.
In the reporting period, transportation of transit cargo declined by 5% to 8.277 million tonnes, internal turnover fell by 29% to 1.293 million tonnes.
By December 2019, Azov-Don Basin Authority registered 5,972 vessel movements including 2,896 downward and 3,076 upward (versus 6,147 in the same period of 2018: 3,042 downward and 3,105 upward).
In November 2019, cargo traffic within Azov-Don Basin fell by 19%, year-on-year to 725,000 tonnes. Transportation of heavy fuel oil accounted for (22.2%), wheat (14.8%) and marine fuel (7.7%). Transit cargo flow dropped by 19% to 591,000 tonnes, internal turnover – by 19% to 134,000 tonnes.
In November, Azov-Don Basin Authority registered 526 vessel movements (269 downward and 257 upward) versus 579 vessel movements in the same period of 2018: 304 downward and 275 upward.
The total length of the waterways in the area of responsibility Azov-Don Basin Administration is 691.3 kilometers.
