Yeisk Seaport OJSC doubles cargo transshipment in Jan.-Feb. 07, y-o-y
In January-February 2007, Yeisk Seaport OJSC (Sea of Azov) handled 217.102 thou tons of cargo (2-fold growth, year-on-year), Interfax-Yug reports according to yuga.ru. In particular, the company handled 98.649 thou tons of coal (increased 3.64 times), 34.943 thou tons of round timber (2.08 times), 18.977 thou tons of cast iron (1.96 times), 15.471 thou tons of sawn timber (2.4 times).
The company does not comment on the reasons for considerable growth in transshipment of cargo.
Yeisk Seaport OJSC is the largest stevedoring company of the port of Yeisk. It dispatches cargo to and accepts the cargo coming from the ports of Turkey, Greece, Italy, Israel, Egypt, Bulgaria and Yugoslavia. The company specializes in transshipment of rolled metal, timber, grain, metal scrap and coal. In 2006, Yeisk Seaport OJSC increased cargo transshipment by 10.1%, year-on-year – to 1.362 million tons.
