Evergreen Line and COSCON introduce SRS service
In response to greater demand for capacity between the Red Sea and Asia, Evergreen Line is to launch the Straits-Red Sea Shuttle (SRS) service in conjunction with Cosco Container Lines (COSCON). The SRS service will complement the existing joint FRS service between the Far East and the Red Sea, providing vital extra capacity over the important hubs of Singapore and the Port of Tanjung Pelepas, Malaysia.
Each carrier will commit two ships of approximately 1200TEU to the fixed-day weekly service. To meet shippers’ demands during the peak season, the service is expected to commence mid-May, when the first sailing will be made by a COSCON vessel from Singapore. Ports of call on the 28-day rotation are as follows: Singapore - Port of Tanjung Pelepas – Jeddah - Port Sudan – Hodeidah – Singapore.
