Seadrill (Norway) bags US$570m ExxonMobil job

Seadrill Ltd, a Norwegian oil-rig firm, confirmed it won a three-year drilling-rig contract valued at US$570 million. The Stavanger, Norway-based company said on July 10 it had got a letter of intent from a 'major oil company', which it didn't identify, for its semi-submersible West Aquarius rig. Seadrill subsequently won the contract from Exxon Mobil Corp, the firm said in a statement to the Oslo stock exchange.
The West Aquarius is under construction at a shipyard in South Korea and is expected to be delivered at the end of the third quarter of 2008, Seadrill said.
