Eleven survivors of the Sinegorje shipwreck found, four dead
Fifteen sailors, including eleven alive and four dead, have been found in the area of the Sinegorje shipwreck, the press service of the Russian Transport Ministry said.Eight ships, six planes and helicopters of South Korea have been searching the area approximately 30 miles wide and 70 miles long on South Korea’s beam.
The Russian Yuri Orlenko ship is taking part in the search, Chief of the Vladivostok Rescue Coordination Center Konstantin Sviridov told. Earlier reports about an amphibious plane of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations taking part in the search were incorrect, Sviridov said. The plane took off from Vladivostok, but then headed for Khabarovsk, he said.The Sinegorje ship that was sailing from the Maritime territory to China with a cargo of timber on board sank 80 miles off South Korea on October 23. There were 18 crewmen on board.
