K' Line, Yang Ming to upgrade Asia-Mediterranean services

Currently "K" Line and YML jointly serve the AMS2 service with seven 4,300-TEU vessels while YML serves the AMS service with six 2,000-TEU ships. Japanese shipping gaint "K" Line and Yang Ming Marine Transport (YML) are to merge their current AMS and AMS2 services by introducing one new Asia-Mediterranean service in their place and plan to deploy seven 5,500-TEU vessels on the service .A "K" Line statement says the new arrangement will come into effect on November 19. The statement explains that the two services shall be combined into one loop, adding that all calling ports covered by the current two services shall be maintained. AMS and AMS2 services will be replaced by the new AMS service gradually, and will be suspended when the new AMS service has been completely inaugurated.
