China to invest US$171 million in Tibet's Naqu railway logistics centre

China resumed work on the Qinghai-Tibet Railway Naqu Logistics Centre this month and investment within this year will come to CNY1.2 billion (US$171.51 million), the largest single investment in Tibet in 2008, Xinhua reported.
Qinghai-Tibet Railway Naqu Logistics Centre, with total investment of CNY1.5 billion ($214.39 million), will be the largest cargo transit base and a first-level logistics centre in Tibet on completion in 2009, the report said.
Naqu Logistics Centre, located next to Tibet's Naqu Railway Station with an altitude of 4,500 metres, covers an area of 5.33 square kilometres and is consisted of a bulk cargo logistics area, an integrated logistics area and a production processing area, providing services of cargo processing, storage, trading and distribution.
