Cargo turnover of transport enterprises (excluding pipelines) operating at the territory of CIS states grew in January-September 2006 by 5% (in January-September 2005 the growth was 2%). According to RZD-Partner, CIS Statistics committee says Moldavia is the leader as regards growth of cargo turnover in January-September 2006 – Its result is 122.6% (year-on-year). Cargo turnover in Azerbaijan grew by 16.3%, in Kazakhstan – by 112.8%, in Ukraine – by 109.5%, in Tadzhikistan – by 6.8%, in Belarus – by 6.3%, in Russia – by 3.8%, in Kyrgyzstan – by 3.5%. Cargo turnover of Armenia made 99.7% of the previous year. Information about Georgia is available only on half-year basis - +133.3%. The highest cargo turnover was that of Russia (1547 billion t-km), Ukraine (207.2 billion t-km) and Kazakhstan (177.5 billion t-km). In Belarus cargo turnover totaled 42 billion t-km, in Azerbaijan – 20.7 billion t-km.
