Chinese terminal operator Yingkou Port Liability Co suffered a 12.72 per cent decline in net profit to CNY27.65 million (US$3.50 million) in the third quarter compared to the CNY31.68 million earned in the same period last year.From July to September, operating profit dropped 26.32 per cent year on year to CNY31.31 million, down from CNY42.5 million a year ago, Xinhua News Agency reported. Revenue from the company's core business unit grew by 4.34 per cent to CNY192 million over the third quarter in 2005. Meanwhile, operational costs rose 10.61 per cent to CNY125 million, up from CNY113 million last year.
In the first nine months of 2006, the company's net profit rose 13.72 per cent year on year from CNY102 million to CNY116 million.
From January through September, Yingkou Port Liability earned CNY617 million in its core business, up 9.39 per cent over last year's CNY564 million. During this period, operational costs rose 4.7 per cent to CNY356 million, up from CNY340 million a year ago, the agency added.
