Batumi Oil Terminal of Batumi seaport located at the Black Sea Coast of Georgia increased transshipment of Caspian oil and oil products, nregion.com reports. In October 2006 the volumes totaled 929.7 thou tons against 871.7 thou tons of October 2005. In the 10-month period of 2006 transshipment of oil and oil products amounted to 10 124.1 thou tons against 7 798.2 thou tons of January-October 2005. The owners forecast the terminal is to load at least 12 000 thou tons of oil in 2006. Oil and oil products come to the port of Batumi from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenia by Georgian railway. Early in June 2005 American oil company ExxonMobil started to use the port of Batumi for shipment of its oil produced at Caspian fields of Azerbaijan. Only ExxonMobil plans to transport 10 000 thou tons of oil by via Batumi Oil Terminal.
