The Greenpeace icebreaker Arctic Sunrise inspected a vessel carrying soy from Amsterdam to Saint Petersburg. The Rusich-1 vessel was blocked in the Baltic sea, 200 miles from Saint Petersburg with the demand to return, Interfax reports according to gazeta.ru. The press release of Russian department of Greenpeace Council international organization says the Rusich-1 dry cargo carrier is suspected in transportation of transgenic soy. Greenpeace activists took soy samples on trial which gave positive result though no corresponding information was in the documents. The country of the cargo origin is USA or Argentina. Greenpeace activists demand that genetically modified soy not be imported to Russia.
