Cargo turnover of Kaliningrad Commercial Seaport down 13% in Jan. –Oct. 06

Cargo turnover of Kaliningrad Commercial Seaport amounted in January-October 2006 to 3.256 million tons (-13% against year-on-year result), Interfax reports according to RZD-Partner. Transshipment of export cargo fell by 14% to 2.418 million tons. In particular, transshipment of rolled metal products decreased by 17% to 994.6 thou tons, cast iron – by 14% to 418 thou tons, coke – by 23% to 238 thou tons, containers – by 49% to 108 thou tons. Transshipment of import cargo fell by 12% to 834.3 thou tons including container transshipment – by 29% to 290 thou tons, grain – by 9% to 235 thou tons. Transshipment of construction materials grew by 22% to 219 thou tons.
