Russia’s import of passenger cars up 32% in January-September 06

In January-September 2006 Russia imported 725.9 thou passenger cars (+32.5% against y-o-y result which totaled 548 thou). This information has been provided federal service of customs statistics, AK&Market reports. 652.5 thou cars came from outside of CIS. Import volume expressed in money terms totaled $8.665 billion against $5.446 billion (+59%). Import of lorries grew by 42.1% to 38.5 thou ($675.5 in money terms - +68% after $401.1 year-on-year). The figure includes 37.6 thou lorries brought from outside of CIS.
