Vladivostok Commercial Seaport handled 3.5 million tons in 10M06

In January-October 2006 Vladivostok Commercial Seaport handled 3506 thou tons of cargo, VCS’s PR Direction reports according to PrimaMedia. Over the reported period the port handled 1 770.4 thou tons of export cargo, 959.1 thou tons of import cargo (against 616.8 thou tons in January-October 2005) and 776.5 thou tons of coastal trade cargo (871 thou tons in January-October). In ten months of 2006 VCS handled 2 741 vessels and 47 317 wagons. In January-October 2006 Vladivostok Container Terminal handled 119 399 TEU (+19%, year-on-year). Coastal trade cargo handled in Kamchtka, Sakhalin and Chukotka directions totaled 37 447 TEU in January-October 2006 and 48 830 TEU in the similar period of the previous year. Import amounted to 39 939 TEU (+51% against year-on-year result). Export - 42 013 TEU (in January-October 2005: 24401 TEU, +72%). Average daily transshipment of the port totaled 11 533 thou with handling of 155.6 wagons.
