Hunan, Guangdong and Hong Kong to start direct trucking service
Hunan's Changsha customs has signed an agreement with the Shenzhen customs to expand the Guangdong-Hong Kong direct trucking service to cover Hunan province, Xinhua reported.
The service will be operated with a fleet of 240 truck with licence valid in Hong Kong, Guangdong and Hunan. Hunan is currently organizing a company as operator of the service.
A senior official from Changsha said the service will reduce customs clearance cost for truck transportation from Hunan to Hong Kong from a few hundred yuan to only a few Yuan while customs clearance time will be cut down to minutes from the previous two to three hours.
The service will initially be launched in three Hunan cities that are nearer to Guangdong province, which are Chenzhou, Yongzhou and Hengyang, and will be expanded to cover the whole province in the future.
