Yantian International Container Terminals improves stowaway detection
YICT has installed new heartbeat detectors that can check for stowaways in shipping containers without opening the doors.
The highly accurate devices have been installed at the entry gatehouses, and take just seconds to operate.
To date, staff members used electronic loadmeters and carbon dioxide detectors to discreetly identify suspicious cargo.
With the new heartbeat detectors, YICT now offers three different ways to conduct safety checks without opening containers. If a suspicious case is identified, an emergency system alerts staff members so they can address the issue as soon as possible.
