Aker Solutions wins $210 million contract from Jurong Shipyard
Aker Solutions has signed a contract with Jurong Shipyard in Singapore for delivery of drilling equipment system for semi-submersible drilling rig. The total contract value for Aker Solutions is approximately $210 million.
According to Aker Solutions, the scope of work for it is to deliver a complete drilling package consisting of engineering, equipment deliveries and commissioning services.
The deepwater semi-submersible drilling rig is scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2011. The contract party is Aker Solutions's subsidiary Aker MH.
Roald Amundsen, president of Aker MH, said: "The two recent awards by Jurong Shipyard, represent another major milestone for Aker Solutions's drilling equipment business. It also confirms our strong position as a world-wide supplier of drilling equipment systems."
