Tianjin's foreign trade value up 16.4pc in first 5 months
From January to May, Tianjin's foreign trade value cumulated to US$32.1 billion, up 16.4 per cent year on year.
This is the first time since this year that Tianjin's trade value achieved a double-digit growth, showing that the city's export has grown stronger, Logistics Week reported.
Export value grew 10.4 per cent to $16.2 billion while import value increased 23.2 per cent to $15.9 billion, generating a trade surplus of $293 million.
In May, the city's trade value rose 28.7 per cent year on year to $6.8 billion, which is the highest monthly figure since this year. Export value went 21.3 per cent up to $3.6 billion, while import value surged 38.1 per cent to $3.2 billion.
