Federation Council suggests that Russian government develop special purpose program of civil shipbuilding development

The Federation Council suggests that Russian government develop special purpose program for development of civil shipbuilding through 2007-2015, PRIME TASS reports. The decision has been adopted today after the report of Andrei Reus, deputy Minister of Industry, who told about the situation in shipbuilding industry. Today’s tax policy does not help attraction of orders to national shipyards. Moreover, it results in a higher cost of our vessels against foreign ones (15-25% higher). So the government should establish credit, tax and customs privileges for shipbuilders.
