Taiwan's Hon Hai to invest in Kaohsiung port
Hon Hai group, also known as Foxconn group, plans to invest in southern Taiwan's Kaohsiung port, the Economic Daily News reported, citing unidentified port officials.
Group products from Vietnam and China's Guangdong province will be assembled in the free trade zone of Kaohsiung before being shipped out.
Kaohsiung will be the group's global shipment and operations center, the report added.
Hon Hai group is the world's leading contract manufacturing services provider for information communication technology devices.
Group members include Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd and Hong Kong-listed Foxconn International Holdings, among others.
