SembCorp Marine wins $220m rig contract
SembCorp Marine has bagged a $220m contract for a jack-up rig from Egyptian Drilling Co, bringing its orders this month to over $1bn.
The Baker Marine Pacific Class 375 Deep Drilling will be built by SembCorp Marine’s PPL Shipyard and is due for delivery in mid-2010.
It is the second jack-up that the joint venture between Egyptian General Petroleum
Corp and the AP Moller – Maersk has ordered at PPL.
With the latest order, SembCorp Marine has won over $1bn in new orders so far this month.
Earlier in July, Jurong Shipyard in Singapore signed a contract to build a $565m semi-submersible rig for Atwood Oceanics for delivery in 2012.
Another Singapore-based unit SMOE bagged a $400m contract from Maersk Oil & Gas to build an HBD Platform to be deployed in the North Sea.
