No accidents or commercial rejects occurred to FESCO during Northern Navigation 2006.
Russian Federation Ministry of Transport permissions were given to FESCO for two vessels IGARKA and AMDERMA work in Eastern sector of Arctic prolongation. It allowed FESCO to do additional cargo delivery to port of Pevek, including cargo from the USA Western coast.
Ice-breaking cargo vessel IGARKA transported more than 3 thousand tons of cargo and equipment from USA to ports of Providenie and Pevek during year 2006. AMDERMA transported about 3 thousand tons of general cargo, equipment and machinery from ports of Western Europe and China to port of Pevek.
More than 292 824 tons of general cargo were delivered to regions with limited period of navigation by FESCO vessels, including line container ships in cabotage. 193 thousand tons of coal were delivered from ports of south coast of Russian Far East, Anadyr and Beringovskiy. More than 12 thousand of tons of general cargo were delivered from foreign ports to Eastern sector of Arctic.
The total traffic volume during this Navigation is 2% higher than for the Navigation 2005.
It is important to mention that FESCO line FADL (Vladivostok – Anadyr) successfully worked during this Navigation. FADL line is served by two vessels – KHUDOZHNIK N. RERIKH and KAPITAN SERGIEVSKIY. More than 25 143 cargo tons in containers (1963 TEU) were transported by these vessels. 22 336 tons of cargo (1282 TEU) were delivered during the Navigation 2005.
Moreover, FESCO vessels do regular all-the-year-round voyages to Magadan, Kamchatka and Sakhalin Regions. These regions were supposed to be territories with limited period of navigation not long ago.
12 vessels of FESCO participated in the Northern Navigation 2006, including BOTSMAN MOSHKOV, KAPITAN LUBCHENKO, ABAKAN, IGOR ILINSKIY, KAPITAN SHEVCHENKO, VASILIY GOLOVNIN, RUDNYY, PIONER KIRGIZII, PIONER SLAVYANKI worked for ports and port points of Koryak autonomous region, Eastern Chukotka, Sakhalin, ports of Petropavlovsk Kamchatskiy and Magadan.
