APL reports June container volume and revenue up 13pc
Singapore's Neptune Orient Lines has reported a 13 per cent year on year increase in average revenue per FEU for container arm APL in June.
Average revenue per FEU for the period increased year-on-year to US$3,080 from $2,726, which was attributed to bunker surcharges and better backhaul rates.
APL transported 201,000 FEU, up 8 per cent compared to June 2007's 185,700 FEU. This was mostly attributed to the strong Asia-Europe and intra-Asia trade, reported American Shipper.
For the year, APL's volume was up 13 per cent to 1.27 million FEU with the average revenue per FEU up 15 per cent to $2,972.
