According to Evgeniy Ambrosov, first deputy to Sovcomflot Director General, acquisition of the Pacific Endurance is a significant step in implementation of Sovcomflot strategy aimed at gradual expansion of the range of services rendered to oil companies being Sovcomflot customers.
“Sovcomflot enters a new market segment and intends to further expand its participation in servicing energy projects at Russia’s continental shelf,” he said.
Shuttle tankers of Sovcomflot Group participate in sea transportation of energy products from oil and gas fields located on the shelf and within the Arctic circle of the Russian Federation – Sakhalin-1 and Varandey. Within the framework of Sakhalin-2, two LNG carriers – Grand Aniva and Grand Elena are deployed for LNG transportation from port Prigorodnoje while a joint company established by Sovcomflot and Sakhalin Energy Investment Company coordinates operation of the port’s services and ensures piloting of vessels calling on the port.
