MISC Berhad to upgrade Halal service

MISC Berhad will upgrade its Halal Express Service linking the Far East, Southeast Asia, the Indian Subcontinent and the Middle East, effective later this month.
The Malaysia-based carrier will expand the weekly service with a second loop to provide direct connections to and from Japan.
The Loop 2 (HE2) rotation will be Yokohama, Nagoya, Shanghai, Xiamen, Singapore, Port Kelang, Colombo, Nhava Sheva, Jebel Ali, Dammam, Karachi, Port Kelang, Singapore and back to Yokohama.
The new service will deploy six vessels of 4,500 TEUs each, offering attractive transit times from Yokohama, Nagoya and Xiamen to Nhava Sheva (Jawaharlal Nehru), India’s largest container port.
The first vessel sailing on Loop 2 will be from Japan on Sept. 24.
The Loop 1, deploying six 4,250-TEU vessels, covers Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Jakarta, Singapore, Tanjung Pelepas, Port Kelang, Karachi, Jebel Ali, Bandar Abbas, Karachi, Nhava Sheva, Colombo, Port Kelang, Singapore, and Shanghai.
MISC has been operating the Halal Express independently since April this year.
