Murmansk Shipping Company cancels orders for ten 30,000-dwt bulk cargo carriers

Murmansk Shipping Company has decided to cancel its order for ten 30,000-dwt bulk cargo carriers earlier placed with Chengxi Shipyard (China), Transport reports.

The order was placed a year ago right before the crises hit the global transportation of bulk cargo. The company also canceled orders for several 75,000-dwt bulk cargo carriers placed with Qingdao Jimo Mastek Shipyard (QJMS).

JSC Murmansk Shipping Company was founded in 1939 as a company specializing in Arctic transportation. JSC Murmansk Shipping Company is a highly integrated corporate structure. It includes fleet of three shipping companies: JSC Murmansk Shipping Company, JSC Northern Shipping Company, JSC Northern River Shipping Lines, their total deadweight is about 1.2 million tons. According to presidential decree dated August 4, 2004, JSC Murmansk Shipping Company is included into the list of strategic enterprises and strategic joint stock companies. The state share in the company’s authorized capital is 25.5%.
