CMA CGM ups Europe / India and Pakistan rates

CMA CGM expanded its “rate restoration” program Thursday, announcing new price increases on shipping between Europe and India and Pakistan.
The French line said it will apply the new rate increases to all cargo and commodities moving westbound and eastbound between India, Pakistan, Europe and the Mediterranean, starting Oct. 1.
It is applying different increases depending on the direction of the cargo.
The increases on westbound cargo from India and Pakistan to Europe and the Mediterranean are $250 per 20-foot dry container and $400 per 40-foot dry and high-cube container.
The new surcharge on overweight containers of more than 23 tons (including the weight of the container) is $150 per dry TEU.
The increase on eastbound cargo from Europe and the Mediterranean to India and Pakistan is $150 per dry TEU and $300 per dry and high-cube FEU.
