Ukraine to revise tariffs for port services to make them competitive with Constanta and Novorossiysk

The tariffs for services provided by Ukrainian ports are to be revised in the nearest future to make the ports competitive, Ukraine PM Yulia Tymoshenko said during the Round Table meeting with heads of the ports, Trade Union, executive authorities and sciences. The meeting held in Odessa was dedicated to functioning and development of Ukraine’s maritime business.

According to the press center of Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers, Yulia Tymoshenko noted that the revision of tariffs for cargo transit and transshipment should be based on tariffs for similar services in rival ports – Constanta (Romania) and Novorossiysk (Russian Federation). Representatives of the maritime industry were ordered to hold an extended session within a two-week period and to elaborate a single document on tariff optimization.
