“Five berths are currently under construction. First two of them – the forth and the fifth – will be put into operation as early as from December 1. The construction of the other three berths will commence from October,” he said.
According to Andrei Streltsov, upon the construction completion the port will be able to accept some 5 million tonnes of cargo per year while its firth phase will be capable of handling some 2 million tonnes of cargo.
Andrei Streltsov reminds the cargo port will be built by December 2010 and it will operate as a cargo port for 3.5 years after which it is to be converted into a marine for 600 yachts.
In general, the port is valued at RUR 15 bln with the state to finance 50% of the amount while the other half will be financed by Basic Element.
