Cargo turnover of Russian ports may total 450 million tons in 2006 against 436 million tons of 2005, Yury Parfeonov, Director of Rosmorport FSUE reported at the press conference in Saint Petersburg. Parfeonov attributes such a dynamics to market stabilization. According to Parfeonov, growth of cargo turnover should be first of all attributed to increased volumes of oil cargo. In 2005 cargo turnover grew by 12%, year-on-year, in 2004 - 23%. The highest growth in the industry was in 2001-2004.
