Hanjin Shipping launches two Intra-Asia VSAs

Hanjin Shipping plans to launch two new vessel-sharing agreements with services covering the Far East, India and the Middle East in November that will replace an existing Hanjin loop.
Named FIX (Far East India Express) and FMX (Far East Middle East Express), these two separate services will be replacing the existing FIM (Far East India Middle East).
The FIX service will be made up of five 2,500-TEU vessels, of which Hanjin will provide two ships, and partners Korea Marine Transport Company will provide two and STX Pan Ocean one.
Hanjin said the partners are starting the service to meet the growing demand in India that resulted from the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, which Korea and India signed in August.
FMX, which focuses on the Middle East, is a vessel-sharing agreement between Hanjin, STX and Sinokor. It will consist of six 4,000-TEU ships, with Hanjin providing four, STX one and Sinokor one.
The port rotation of the FIX service is: Qingdao, Busan, Kwangyang, Shanghai, Ningbo, Yantian, Singapore, Nhava Sheva, Penang, Singapore and back to Qingdao.
The port rotation of the FMX service is: Qingdao, Ulsan, Busan, Kwangyang, Shanghai, Ningbo, Kaohsiung, Shekou, Singapore, Bandar Abbas, Jebel Ali, Khor Fakkan, Karachi, Singapore and back to Qingdao.
