Petrolesport (St. Petersburg) completes basic reconstruction of ferry terminal

Petrolesport OJSC (St. Petersburg) has completed the basic phase of the ferry terminal reconstruction. As journalists learnt from the press center of N-Trans which controls Petrolesport, the work included construction of over 16 hectares of specialized open storage ground for passenger cars, modernization of facilities for acceptance and storage of ferry cargo, introduction of IT control system, PortNews reporter says.

Open ground for passenger cars can accommodate 5,300 automobiles. Total volume of investments exceeded RUR 892 mln in 2008-2009. Ferry terminal of Petrolesport is included into the linear schedule of such ferry operators as «K»line, Transfennica, Sovcomflot, Sovcomflot Lines and Wallenius Wilhelmsen.

“We continue capital investment in development of specialized terminals aimed primarily at improvement of service technologies,” Nikita Mishin, Petrolesport BoD Chairman said.

Petrolesport OJSC is a stevedoring company of the Big Port of St. Petersburg. PLP handles wide range of cargoes (refrigerated, ro-ro, timber and general cargo) being a leader in container transshipment in the North-West region of Russia. In 2008, the company’s net profit calculated according to Russian Accounting Standard totaled RUR 2.601.558 bln, revenue – RUR 5,428,824 bln.
