Rolf SCS plans to transship 60,000-80,000 cars via Petrolesport terminal (SPb) in 2009

In 2009, Rolf SCS plans to transship 60,000-80,000 automobiles via Petrolesport terminal in St. Petersburg, PortNews IAA learnt from Rolf SCS CEO Marc Brenneiser.

According to him, Petrolesport is to handle Mitsubishi, SsangYong, Geelu, Mercedes and Ford. Transshipment of other brands is currently under negotiation.

Automobiles come to Petrolesport by feeder vessels from the Baltic ports though Rolf SCS does not rule out direct delivery of cars from the regions of production.

The first batch of foreign cars handled by Petrolesport for Rolf SCS under the long-term agreement of strategic partnership came to the terminal in June 2008. Since then 60,000 automobiles were transshipped via the terminal.

As it was reported earlier, Petrolesport OJSC (St. Petersburg) had completed the basic phase of the ferry terminal reconstruction. Open ground for passenger cars can accommodate 5,300 automobiles. Total volume of investments exceeded RUR 892 mln in 2008-2009.

Petrolesport OJSC is a stevedoring company of the Big Port of St. Petersburg. PLP handles wide range of cargoes (refrigerated, ro-ro, timber and general cargo) being a leader in container transshipment in the North-West region of Russia. In 2008, the company’s net profit calculated according to Russian Accounting Standard totaled RUR 2.601.558 bln, revenue – RUR 5,428,824 bln.
