Agility plans HK$1bn leap across China

Some HK$1bn ($128m) will be spent by a Kuwait-based logistics company to expand its presence in China by 2008.
The move coincides with the rebranding and integration of the company into the new outfit Agility. Formerly known as PWC Logistics, Agility Logistics will bring together more than six companies including GeoLogistics, TransOceanic, Trans-Link and Tristar under a single name.
Commenting on the rebranding and planned expansion, Agility Logistics Asia Pacific chief executive Wolfgang Hollermann said the HK$1bn would be spent on acquisitions and organic growth over the next two years.
He said Agility Logistics is already well represented in China’s major coastal cities. Consequently, Agility is likely to target Chinese companies operating in inland provinces.
“China, Pakistan, India and Eastern Europe are the growth markets,” he said.
