Keppel seals US$200m rig accord

Keppel FELS sealed its first semi-submersible tender drilling rig deal with PV Drilling yesterday, when the contract for the US$200 million unit was signed in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. PV Drilling president Do Van Kanh (left) and Keppel Offshore and Marine CEO Tong Chong Heong (right) signed the contract for the rig, which will be built in Singapore and is due for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2011. KepFels has delivered five such units since 1994, all of which have been deployed in shallow and deep waters off South-east Asia and West Africa.
