The cargo turnover at Aktau International Commercial Sea Port (ACSP, Kazakhstan) in January-November, 2009 made up 12 million 726 thousand tons of dry and bulk-oil cargoes, or 28.76% as of 2008, the port news service says.
According to the report, 10 million 349 thousand tons of oil and oil products, 2376.8 thousand tons of dry cargoes, 1 million 561.6 thousand tons of metal products, 504 thousand tons of grains and 127,7 thousand tons of other cargoes, have been transshipped over the past 11 months at the Aktau port. Besides, 183,5 thousand tons of cargo transshipped by ferry. Since January1.898 ships have been handled, the report says.
The Aktau port is located at the east coast of Caspian sea and is the only sea port of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It was intended for the international transportation of wide range of dry cargoes, crude oil and oil products. In January-October, 2009 cargo turnover at the Aktau Port totaled 10 million 201 thousand tons of dry and bulk-oil cargoes, or 32% as of 2008.
