Cargo turnover of the Sea Port of Kotka (Finland) in January-November, 2009 is reportedly down by 35,3 % in comparison with the similar period of 2008, totaled 6,93 million tons. As it is specified in port materials, container turnover has also decreased by 46,3 % and totaled 315,28 thousand TEUs, the port official report says.
The Kotka port is one of the basic export ports of Finland, being a part of the logistical hub providing trade between Finland and Russia. As of the last year the port cargo turnover was over 10 million tons.
